If you’re one of those Hollywood classics' enthusiasts, then you’ll enjoy getting to know the man behind Steve McQueen’s anti-hero persona. However, this documentary is more than just a regular biopic, considering it tells the story of The King of Cool’s passion for racing. The Cannes Classics-selected documentary recently dropped a new trailer that presents rare and never-before-seen footage of the iconic actor.
Just like the title says, the movie that’s about to screen at the New Zealand International Film Festival in two days has two points of views that will disclose who Steve McQueen really was. Not only will people learn of his personal life, but the movie also makes for an excellent example of how important chasing your dreams to the end is.

There’s also an untold story around the film, and it has something to do with the 1971 Le Mans film, McQueen starred in. Although it was given enough mixed ratings, the movie is still popular today among race fans, as it is a relatively accurate depiction of the era. As far as we can guess from the trailer listed below, the actor considered this the most important work of his life, especially that the race itself was an important crossing point in his career.

“The story of obsession, betrayal, and ultimate vindication,” is what the movie makers describe the long-awaited biopic and we can’t wait to see it. The film is directed by Gabriel Clarke and John McKenna and received a world premiere at Cannes earlier this year, under the Cannes Classics section of the festival. It will hit cinemas in fall.
