Watch the New Skoda Octavia RS Lap the Nurburgring

When is the last time you told yourself that you really wanted a Skoda, that you need it more than any other car on the market? That's probably a big "never" for most of you, since the Czechs have always been the poorer relations of the VW group. You buy a Skoda with your family in mind, not the tickling sensation in your pants area.

However, if you're still stuck thinking Skodas are skips on wheels, than you need to check this video out. A new Octavia RS will debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this summer. It will be quite powerful, very spacious and quite affordable, basically a class all on its own.

The Octavia RS is trying its best to look bland so as to not attract unwanted attention from the Nurburgring paparazzi, but it sounds very good and isn't bad to look at either. The car is only expected to have 220 horsepower for the petrol version and somewhere just over 180 for the 2.0 TDI. But power isn't everything. The new Golf GTI has proven that with 350 Nm of torque, acceleration can be very impressive.

We are looking at what will be the fastest Skoda ever built, delivering acceleration from the start line to the red line. We have reason to believe this will also be the very first Skoda RS with all-wheel drive, something which Skoda fans have been wanting for years now.

If after this you still have trouble lusting over a hot piece Skoda, than just check out these leaked photos from last December.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
