They say that when riding a motorcycle, the operator must be several time for attentive than a driver inside a car. Traffic awareness and properly assessing the road conditions are key elements which allow a rider to stay out of dangerous situations or make the best of the unexpected things happening around him.
Add in the rain to an already dangerous method of transportation and things become really interesting, so to speak. But this does not necessarily mean that a rider would crash... unless something is missing.
We've watched this video very close and can definitely say the late reaction was the key element of the crash. The rider takes around 3 seconds to start braking, and when he does, he applies too much force, losing the bike on the slippery road, and being also unable to swerve past the van.
Luckily for the guy, we see him wearing a helmet, an armor and knee protectors, so we can hope he's alright.
