VW Up! UK Pricing Announced

Brits can now order the VW Up!, with the city car set to arrive in showrooms across the country in spring 2012, with a starting price of GBP7,995. The Up! is launched with two 1.0-liter engines, offering 60 and 75 hp, with customers having the possibility to opt for an eco-focused BlueMotion Technology version. The vehicles comes with thee trim levels: Take Up!, Move Up! and High Up!, as well as the Up! black and Up! white special editions. The Up! is offered as a three-door car, but a five-door model is scheduled for the second half of 2012.
The entry-level Take Up! starts at GBP7,995, with the standard specification including body-coloured bumpers, daytime running lights, front and side head/thorax airbags, the new RCD 215 CD radio with aux-in, rear ISOFIX points, and 14-inch steel wheels.

NExt, we have the Move Up! which retails for GBP8,970 and offers remote central locking, air conditioning, electric front windows, easy-entry seats, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, variable-height load floor and 60:40 split/fold rear seats.  Outside, the Move up! brings body-coloured door mirrors and handles.

The Move Up! BlueMotion Tecnhology, which comes with a start-stop system that cuts urban fuel consumption by up to six percent, braking energy recover and low rolling resistance tires, being exempted from road tax, costs an extra GBP360.

As for the High Up!, this is offered for GBP 10,390, bringing heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, gear lever and handbrake grip, electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors, the Maps & More personal infotainment device and a choice of dashboard colour.  The model can be distinguished by its 15-inch alloy rims and fog lights.

The Up! black and Up! white are priced at GBP11,180 and offer deep black pearl or pure white metallic paint, the chrome door mirror caps and door side strips and 16-inch alloy wheels with body-coloured centre sections.  In their cabins, we find is a body-coloured dash, special ‘stripes’ upholstery and carpet mats.

The list of optional extras includes eight packages:
• Sensor pack (GBP350): parking sensors, cruise control, multifunction computer
• Driver’s assistance pack (GBP400): City Emergency Braking, ESP, passenger airbag deactivation switch
• Comfort pack (GBP350): remote central locking, electric front windows, height adjustable driver’s seat
• Winter pack (GBP350): front fog lights, heated front seats, electrically heated and adjustable door mirrors
• Chrome pack (GBP250): chrome door mirror caps and side strips
• Sports pack (GBP450): 16-inch alloy wheels, sports suspension and tinted glass from the B-pillar backwards
• Sound pack (GBP100): four additional speakers (two front, two rear)
• Leather-look pack (GBP650): leather-look seats, leather-covered steering wheel, gear lever and handbrake, plus carpet mats
