German carmaker Volkswagen recently partnered with Maxim magazine in order to bring their contribution to the Haiti relief efforts, by auctioning off a celebrity autographed 2010 GTI hood on eBay. During the 2010 Maxim Party, held the past weekend in Miami, Volkswagen collected more than 50 celebrity signatures, including Kevin Connolly of ‘Entourage’ and Kellan Lutz from ‘Twilight’.

Other celebrities that placed their signature on the 2010 GTI hood include Katie Cassidy ("Melrose Place"), Evander Holyfield, Floyd Mayweather, Jessica Szohr ("Gossip Girl"), Nelly, Jermaine Dupri, LMFAO, Nick Lachey, Vanessa Minnillo, The All American Rejects, Dave Annable ("Brothers and Sisters") and Jesse McCartney.

Bids can be placed at the following link, and all the proceeds will benefit the Doctors Without Borders Emergency Relief Fund to help the Haitians in need.

“Volkswagen chose Doctors Without Borders because they have been an integral part of helping the people of Haiti to recover from the devastating effects of the earthquake that struck the country a few short weeks ago and have aided in other relief efforts in various countries all over the world,” the eBay post reads.

“Volkswagen hopes that the money raised by this auction combined with the people and resources from Doctors Without Borders can make a considerable difference in the lives of the people who have been affected by disaster worldwide.”

Volkswagen is not at its first initiative to raise money for the Haiti relief effort. It recently announced that, together with Audi, it has setup set up a football match between VfL Wolfsburg and FC Bayern Munchen. Audi and Volkswagen guarantee 1 million euros will be collected during the match, as they will donate the difference to cover what is raised from selling of the tickets.
