Volvo XC90 Set for a Record Breaking Sales Year
Thanks to its seven seat interior, class-leading safety and strong residual values, the XC90 has always been a Volvo best-seller. Its recently launched D5 engine with 200PS is offered at the competitive price of £34,040 ($53,800) on UK roads for the Active to £43,275 ($54,175) for the Executive. Sales for the whole of 2010 are expected to top 7,000 units for this luxury SUV that comes equipped with five different trim levels and are fitted with all-wheel-drive and seven seats as standard.
Volvo's new Winter Tyre Program was recently introduced in order to help drivers deal with snow and icy conditions. The scheme has proven very successful, with sales exceeding over 1000 tires since its launch in October. Winter tires are designed to perform in temperatures below 7 degrees Celsius, when standard tires start to reduce in performance and prolong braking distances. Volvo offers alloy wheel and tires packages with either Pirellis or Continentals, priced from £949+VAT ($1,500) and £999+VAT ($1,578) respectively.
"Interest in the Volvo winter tires has far exceeded our expectations, with Scotland, the North of England and London seeing the greatest number of inquires and sales. While some are struggling with supply, we pre-ordered a large number of tires to ensure all Volvo customers can be catered for, even into the New Year," stated Lee Berrell, Aftersales Manager for Volvo Car UK.
