We've shown you tens if not hundreds of renderings where SUVs get turned into pickup trucks. But every once in a while, somebody actually goes out and chops a car. "How?" is usually people's first reaction, followed by a little bit of "why?".
Such is the case with a couple of internet sensations that have slipped under our radar. Back in 2012, a German company called Dalbo Fordonsteknik created several interesting looking Volvo pickup trucks, including a 6x6.

What you have to remember is that this happened way before Mercedes began asking half a million dollars for its radical G63 6x6 model, so Dalbo is are no means copycats.

There is another 6x6 XC60 out there, painted in matte black and used by many as a camera car, including Top Gear if I remember correctly. But I don't think they are the same, since Volvo claims to have made the camera car by itself.

Not only is the XC60 painted red and fitted with the R-Design body kit, but it's got some extra sporting frills, such as the oversized chrome wheels. The coachbuilding at the back is especially interesting, since the makers created the tailgate, pickup bed and added louvers to the rear window. For an extra-rugged look, the Scandinavian SUV has been gifted with a LED light bar on the roof and a bull bar for the front bumper.

The only major issue we have is that the shoulder line of the XC60 rises too sharply, so they had to taper it towards the back.

Dalbo also made a pickup out of the XC70 wagon-based crossover. This time, it's a sleek unit with only two doors and a beachy vibe. In many ways, it reminds us of the Subaru Baja or the Peugeot Hoggar. What's more, it's being towed to a Volvo Museum by an XC90 6x6 pickup truck. What a crazy bunch!

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
