Every tuning enthusiast was eagerly anticipating for Heico Sportiv to bring the first tuning package for the 2015 Volvo XC90 at the Essen Motor Show, but that didn’t happen. Nevertheless, the German outfit wowed the Essen Motor Show with three other tricked out Volvo models, including a plug-in hybrid.
Starting with the most expensive and hi-tech Heico Sportiv Volvo we’ve seen at Essen, the Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid you can admire just a scroll away is a diesel-electric wagon. While the standard model churns out 283 hp and a hefty 640 Nm of torque (472 lb-ft), Heico hiked both the grunt and torque.

Thanks to a four-pipe exhaust system, better air filter and some electronic wizardry to the 2.4-liter diesel engine’s ECU and electric motor’s management unit, Heico upped it to 308 ponies and 690 Nm (508 lb-ft) of torque – comparable with the T6 powerplant we tested in our review of the 2015.5 Volvo S60 sedan.

See that V40 compact hatchback with a bit of green adorning its white body shell? Don’t get fooled by the carbon fiber aero diffuser at the rear or the quarter of tail pipes. The enhanced visuals hide a D4 Drive-E 2-liter turbo’d oil burner under the bonnet, rated 190 hp / 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) in standard guise.

For the exhibited V40 D4, Heico upped the ante to 220 horsepower and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) of twist

The additional power propels the Volvo V40 D4 from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.0 seconds, compared to 8.2 seconds for the series model, and a top speed of 235 km/h (146 mph), which is unorthodox for a Volvo.

Last but not least, Heico Sportiv claims it has transformed the Volvo V40 Cross Country into the so-called “XC40”. The rough & ready V40 variant is kitted with a new suspension said to improve driving dynamics while not affecting soft-road capabilities. An eight-piece set of polyurethane fender flairs is also offered. With it, Heico’s V40 Cross Country “XC40” sort of resembles a mini Volvo XC model, doesn’t it?

If the aesthetics aren’t enough to float your boat, the tuner can also tune the CC’s engine lineup as follows: the D2 from 115 to 130 hp, the D3 from 150 to 195 hp, the D4 we talked about previously from 190 to 220 hp and the turbo petrol T5 from 254 to a not too shabby 268 horsepower.

However, the element that really made us want the so-called XC40 is the Heico Green leather. Do you also get the feeling The Incredible Hulk was skinned to wrap the door panels and seats with it?
