Forget hamsters and Jean-Claude Van Damme, Volvo Trucks is finally letting its customers get some screen time to help promote the line of semi trucks. These big rigs, after all, aren’t just a mode of transportation, they’re a means of income. To help some truckers show off their unique big rigs, Volvo has created the “Welcome to My Cab” series to give these hard-working men and women a forum to show off a little.
Volvo Trucks originally launched this series in Europe back in 2009 to let truck owners brag about their custom trucks, and we’re not talking the cheesy Trick My Truck stuff either. One of the many episodes for the European series showed a truck that had been painted up to honor the Titanic.

In similar style, the U.S. version of this kicks off in grand fashion with Jon and Miriam Brown… and their little dog, too. This couple has been driving trucks together for 14 years averaging about 110,000 miles per year hauling specialized freight. Part motorhome, part semi truck, their Volvo Trucks VNL was custom designed to meet their needs, and it features all of the luxurious of a coach with all of the abilities of a semi. Some of the features include a slide-out sleeping area, an onboard washer and dryer combo and a two-burner electric stove.

“’Welcome to My Cab’ is all about professional truck drivers and their passion for trucks, trucking and life on the road. This series lets us celebrate the lives of drivers and provides a platform for them to share their stories and amplify their voice through social media,” said Magnus Koeck, Volvo Trucks vice president, marketing and brand management.

If you have a Volvo big rig you’d like to show off, Volvo Trucks has set up a website where owners can enter for a chance to be featured in a future video.
