UD Trucks is a Japanese company that sells all sorts of light, medium and heavy trucks powered by diesel engines. They were officially established in 1950 and on February 15th, 2010 they were taken over by Volvo Trucks.
Today, they've announced a new heavy duty truck called the Quester, which has been tailored for the growth markets of Asia Pacific and other regions. It can be tailored to a number of applications, from be a semi cargo puller to a rigid body tanker. It provides a platform for a wide range of applications including mining, construction, distribution and long-haul transportation.
Production will start in the third quarter of 2013 in Bangkok, Thailand. Further details should be announced at a later time.
