The name basically spells Tiguan with the syllables reversed, and it is quite beefy looking despite carrying room for four people and a reasonable boot.
The Taigun concept is 3,859 mm (98 inches) long, 1,728 mm (43.9 inches) wide and 1,570 mm (39.9 inches) tall. As a concept it weighs 985 kg (2,172 pounds) and it carries with it a cargo space of 280 liters.
Power for the Taigun comes from a turbocharged 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine with 110 PS (108 hp) and 175Nm (129 lb-ft).
"The torque-strong three-cylinder is an ideal engine for such a compact SUV; it is a companion for driving through the urban environment that is as efficient as it is dynamic," commented Ulrich Hackenberg, VW Board Member for Technical Development.
