Volkswagen Makes Stuffed Bunnies Sad with Autonomous Braking

The "new" VW Golf comes with a very nice feature called Automatic Distance Control. Once you've set the speed and time gap, the car will accelerate and brake to maintain that distance.
ADC scans the area in front of the car for traffic using the radar system installed in the front of the car, working together with the radar-controlled Front Assist traffic monitoring system.

That does sound a little bit cold and inhuman, so how about a funny VW commercial to make you understand how the system works.

Our protagonist is a furry little stuffed bunny in the windshield of a Golf who finds the love of his life stuck to the back window of a Caddy. But because of the ADC system, the two will never be together. So sad! *sob*

The system's radar sensor has a range of up to 200 meters and a beam angle of 12 degrees. Using the signals from the radar sensor, the control unit computes the distance to the vehicle ahead and your car's speed relative to it. It also works out its lateral position on multi-lane roads.
