From the 220 HP Golf GTI to the 280 HP Leon Cupra, the exhaust specialists from Derby we know as Milltek have pretty much done their work on every cool new 2-liter hot hatch from the Volkswagen Group. All, that is, except for what's arguably the best and most famous one.
With four pipes sticking out the back of every Golf R nowadays, it's hard to find fault with the standard system of the 300 HP hot hatch from Wolfsburg. However, Milltek have gone above and beyond, knowing that not even the fastest production VW ever made is enough for some people.

The company says it's spent "an unprecedented amount of time creating a truly impressive and comprehensive range of performance exhaust options for the R". It uses 3-inch (76mm) stainless steel pipe diameter to increase gas flow without adding droning noises into the cabin.

Especially for the Mk7 R, Milltek Sport developed a single system cat-back architecture, which is available with either a center silencer (resonated) or a center silencer delete pipe (non-resonated for track use). For the more extreme Golf R tuning projects, Milltek has also developed an even larger bore downpipe system ending in a cat-back.

What's best about Milltek's sports exhaust is that because it's a quad-pipe system, you don't need to cut into the rear bumper to make room. The end tips are available with either a shiny Polished finish photos or in the stealthy Charcoal Black Velvet finish, which we think is the one to go for.
