Volkswagen Caddy Gets BlueMotion 1.6 TDI Engine
There are a lot of efficient small vans like this one out there, but since Volkswagen tends to meet its fuel economy claims, we are rather impressed with this Caddy.
From the outside, it look like just another van and predictably, the most frugal VW engine was used, a 1.6-liter TDI diesel rated at 102 PS (101 bhp) and 250Nm (184 lb-ft) of peak torque.
TDI engine are not new to the Caddy, but what is new is the fact that it offers it has lowered suspension, low rolling resistance tires, brake energy recovery and start-stop.
Prices in Germany will start at €17,720. If you're looking to do long miles in your van and don't mind the 27mm cut from the suspension, this Caddy is for you. We'll see it in person at the Frankfurt Motor Show in a few. Stay tuned.
