I Want to Drive!... Even if my financial situation is a bit far from tying up with that of my colleague Bach, you probably already know I'm not actually poor either. And that's just to be modest. Yet, I don't like helicopters and I only use planes if I really have to. I'm a fan (age ... Continue reading >

The safe Bobsy
In case you want a truly safe car seat for your child, Volkswagen Accessories seem to be the one to make your wish come true. Although the investigation conducted by the Chicago Tribune showed that babies might not be safe in some infant seats, it appears that the "Bobsy" child safety seat from Volkswagen Accessories is not part of the "doomed" category.

The "Bobsy G 0-1 ISOFIX" received top marks in the crash test "Small Family Car" of the Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme). Among the most praised features of the infant seat, we can note the best possible protection in case of an accident and easy handling.

Apparently, the "Bobsy G 0-1 ISOFIX" is very easy to install thanks to the two-part variable retaining system of the car seat which comprises the child safety seat and a separate platform. Parents can easily fix the car seat to the vehicle bodywork using the ISOFIX, but they can also install it in vehicles without the ISOFIX system, using a three-point seatbelt or lap belt.

The "Bobsy G 0-1 ISOFIX" can accommodate children with a body weight from 9 kilograms to 18 kilograms who will sit comfortably and safe in the car seat thanks to its height-adjustable full safety harnesses. Based on the two-part ISOFIX construction, the "Bobsy G 0-1 ISOFIX" has one major advantage: the large shell of the child safety seat enables it to be changed to a system facing forwards at a later time. This is extremely useful because it reduces the exposure to the cervical spine of the child considerably.

In addition, to keep it clean, the skin friendly fabric covering could be removed and washed washed at up to 30 degrees Centigrade.

Parents who are interested in purchasing this car seat for their children should know that the "Bobsy G 0-1 ISOFIX"  is available for all Volkswagen passenger car models with ISOFIX preparation at every Volkswagen partner and on the Internet under www.volkswagen-zubehoer.de.

  1. Adrienne :

I have an older model Bobsy and my toddler can undo the buckle. So maybe not as safe as reported. I am trying to report this problem to VW but no-one in customer services will help with giving me any information on whether it has been recalled or not, or whether they welcome any parent feedback - the US directs me to the UK, and then they redirect me to the US. It seems like they don't want to know...
