Vladimir Putin Wants "Vanity Tax" for Luxury Vehicles
After the idea has been analyzed by the Russian ministers, the law was finalized and it was sent to the Parliament to be voted. The law specifies that every five-year old car that costs between 5 and 10 million rubles (€126,000 - €252,000) should be taxed supplementary every year.
According to Vedomosti newspaper, a BMW 760i will be taxed with €4,100, while a Bentley Continenta GT owner will have to pay €7,000 for example.
If the law will be accepted, the Russian treasury income will gain a lot of money, as the luxury car sales are increasing in the area. Last year, approximately 110,000 premium vehicles were sold in the country.
