Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 Looks Even Bigger in Real Life Videos

Maybach lives again! That's the feeling we got after the reveal of the Vision 6 concept car. It's hard to say for sure what an opulent car is. But this red coupe re-writes the rulebook with an 18.5-foot long body.

The Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 only has 2+2 seating, yet is the size of a small whale. You could easily park two smart cars and have room to spare.

Maybach doesn't make cars, it makes the S-Class with more speakers. Right? Yet here they are, releasing a concept car that will have us referencing it for years until it finally reaches production.

Elegance can be clearly seen, even if you are hundreds of miles away from the Monterey show where it's being revealed and are only watching a video. While it might be futuristic, the 6 is also connected to the past, both distant and recent.

For example, the 24-inch wheels fitted to this car are clearly inspired by those on the Mercedes IAA Concept of last September. Also, the overall look of the front end is similar to the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo from three years back.

The evolution of the Maybach grille might be evident to some people, but we see it more as a throwback to the 57 and 62 models.

Like most modern concepts, this one is designed as an electric car. It has a total output of 750 PS or 738-hp, which is similar to what most V12 supercars offer. Stored under the floor is an 80 kWh battery pack that is said to offer a range of 500 kilometers according to the European cycle or 200 EPA miles.

The battery is no longer a major engineering bottleneck, as it's said 100 kilometers (62 miles) of extra range can be added in the time it takes to drink a cup of coffee - 5 minutes.

So if your villa has a 20-foot long driveway that needs filling. You'd better start showing some interest. Otherwise, the bespoke Maybach concept will remain just that, a concept.
