Vintech P550 Tribute Coming to Pebble Beach

Porsche’s 550 was a mid engined sports car built between 1953 and 1956. It was basically a racing evolution of Porsche’s 356, which was very light, low to the ground and agile. Now, a French company is bringing back a modernized version of the car to the Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance.

The new car is called the Vintech P550 Tribute and it is basically a modern interpretation of the 1950s classic, with a period-style roof neatly integrated into its sleek lines. Aside from the design changes, the lovely sculpted body is completely made from carbon fiber, and despite the addition of an engine twice as large as the 1.5-liter the car originally came with, it still tips the scales at 550 kg (1,200 lbs) - the same as the original models.

The three liter boxer engine is expected to produce around 260-270 hp, which should give it spritely performance. We will have more details after the car’s unveiling, after its August 17th official unveiling.
