Vertu Ascent Ferrari GT Phone Released

British cell phone manufacturer Vertu had just announced the launch of a new limited edition device to join the existing exclusive pieces in its line-up: the Ascent Ferrari GT handset. Born from a partnership with the renown Italian sports car manufacturer, the device will be available in a limited number of 2011 units, with pricing to be revealed at a later date.

The luxury phone was designed using inspiration from Ferrari cars and it is made from forged titanium with a matte black PVD finish.

In addition to that, owners will also enjoy the same black and red hand-sewn leather ornaments we find inside a Ferrari. The side of the phone reminds viewers of the Ferrari engine grill. Other features include precision engineered stainless steel keys and a ceramic battery cover.

The rest of the features of the Vertu Ascent Ferrari GT include a 2" QVGA screen with 16 million colours, protected by Sapphire Crystal, and a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with a LED flash. There's also 3G with HSDPA and A-GPS with navigation software and preoloaded maps. The Vertu trademark high-performance 11x15mm stereo hands-free speakers are also present.

Other highlights of the limited edition luxury phone are listed below:

• Length: 118mm
• Width: 45mm
• Depth: 18mm
• Weight: 187g
• Bluetooth
• Micro USB: PC & Mac synchronisation
• Web browser with accelerometer controlled portrait to landscape viewing
• User memory: 32GB - Up to 2000 names in phonebook, 2000 calendar notes, 1000 SMS
