Gowrings Mobility, a UK company that converts vehicles for wheelchair accessibility, has introduced its newest product, the high-accessibility Vauxhall Movano.

The vehicle joins the Renault Master, to create a wider offer for the minibus market and has been designed to suit the needs of wheelchair passengers. The short wheelbase Vauxhall Movano offers multiple seating configurations and can accommodate up to three wheelchair passengers. In this seating scheme, the vehicle can also provide space for three seated passengers, besides the driver.

The vehicle can also be used in a classic configuration, which accommodates up to 7 seated passengers. The three wheelchair positions are designed to offer maximum access, visibility and space. The wheelchairs are loaded via a Ricon inboard lift.

I’ve seen countless minibus conversions that focus on how many seats they can cram in and with the needs of the wheelchair passengers as an afterthought. Our Vauxhall Movano is different. Every detail has been purposefully designed with the needs, comfort and safety of the wheelchair user in mind. As with our smaller wheelchair passenger vehicles, our team of design engineers has come up with a superb conversion, ideal for fleet operators or larger families.” said Janet Seward, Gowrings Mobility’s Sales and Marketing Director.

The vehicle’s interior focuses on offering fine detail features, such as sunken wheelchair restraints that reduce the risk of tripping and bespoke, ergonomically designed seatbelts. The company’s offer also includes the long wheelbase version on the Vauxhall Movano, which can be ordered with a tailor-made conversion to suit every client's needs.
