US Speedways to use RainedOut Service

Racing fans will from now on be able to stay in touch with what happens on more than 50 speedways across the US, as they all now benefit from the RainedOut first text message service for sports leagues and clubs.

RainedOut was started out of the need to inform fans possible cancellations. It works via a text message, eliminating the need for a cancellation line. The fun part about it all is that is free, because it is a sponsor-supported service.

"It's been a phenomenal service for our fans and drivers, particularly for those that come from hundreds of miles away. It allows us to turn them around before they spend too much money on fuel, which is a big concern today with the high cost of gas and many of our drivers using large trucks to haul big heavy trailers," Andy Cusack, Beech Ridge Motor Speedway said in a release.

RainedOut works by allowing people to send custom or predefined messages instantly to the entire league and inform the other of possible cancellations. It can also be used for giving directions or recruit volunteers.

"RainedOut is extremely easy, convenient and it's a great service. For those speedways that are not using RainedOut, I would highly recommend that they give it favorable consideration. It's a wonderful service for the speedway to be able to communicate very, very quickly with their fans and competitors," Russ Dowd, Thompson International Speedway director of Operations added.
