Bad news and good news for the US riders with an orange crush. It's now very clear that no KTM 1190 Adventure will be sold in the US in 2013, with prospects that the new Adventure machine will be however available in 2014.
The good side of this is that a nifty version of the 990 Adventure will be in the dealerships soon, namely the 990 Adventure Baja, reportedly an US-specific model. And if that's still not enough, the mighty 690 Duke makes it way back across the pond.

The 990 Adventure Baja is a bike borrowing some character from the Dakar-specced machines and comes with an updated color scheme, orange powder coated frame and crashbars, an orange radiator guard, GPS mount kit, tank bag and waterproof roll-pack. A special edition will also sport Dunlop 908 RR tires.

As for the naked beast, the new 690 Duke is clearly different from all previous models. It boasts a redesigned bodywork, with a more compact look and stressing the naked attitude. The 690cc power unit will provide up to 70 hp, with zero lag throttle thanks to the ride-by-wire technology and better street handling with the introduction of the ATPC slipper clutch.

The 690 Duke will be available in both white and black schemes, with prices yet to be announced. If you want the 1190, you're going to have to wait until the 2014 model. Sorry, really.
