It looks like the new Ural sidecar motorcycles reached the Philippines, too. At least, this is what I get from watching this cool and rather lengthy commercial from that part of the world.
Aside the marketing value of expanding to new areas and countries, the whole thing made me remember how cool exploring new places really is. Even though I guess a sportier adventure bike is a very good choice for such a purpose, it’s impossible to deny the value of a good sidecar motorcycle for exploring new grounds.
Two things come first: stability and with it, the enhanced sightseeing capabilities. That is, when riding on three wheels, keeping the bike rubber-side down is much easier, reducing fatigue on rough terrain. And with the added grip of the 2WD some Ural sidecar motorcycles have, things are even easier and more fun.
On the other hand, given the lower speed the 3-wheelers are usually driven at, sightseeing is more rewarding and poses fewer risks than trying to take a look around and watching the road at the same time.
Ural also announces the National Open House day on April 19. Dealers will welcome visitors on two, three, four or no wheels at all, offer test rides and all the info you need, as well as the chance to meet the 2014 upgraded bikes and other Ural owners.
For reasons which are not hard to guess, the Open House day for the Alaska dealership will be April 27. For a list of participating dealers, follow this link to the Ural Season Kick Off Open Houses.
