External changes are no secret. Just looking at the photos, we can quickly identify the new bumper, headlights, grille and taillight graphics. The wheels have a new finish and the roof rails with "Duster" logos immediately draw your attention.

Next, we'll draw your attention to the interior. There, the door panels are said to have been revised with much better materials. The instrument cluster has new lighting, and the Media NAV Evolution brings upscale touches by integrating GPS navigation. Also, the crossover comes with improved insulation while the list of options adds a heated windshield, rear-view camera, and cruise control.

What's under the bonnet? Starting with the base model, this has dropped the Renault K4M 1.6-liter engine with 102 horsepower. In its place, we have a new 1.6 borrowed from the Russian-spec Nissan Sentra and Tiida. It delivers a slightly more impressive 114 horsepower.

The old 2-liter engine has been kept but undergoes modernization. Thanks to variable valve timing, its output grows from 135 to 143 horsepower. Renault only offers AWD versions of this 2.0L, equipped with a manual or automatic.

Finally, there's the diesel option, which comes with 109 hp as standard, instead of the old 90 hp. Only a manual is available for this most expensive Duster.

Even though Dacia first introduced the Duster affordable crossover, production has been going on in Russia since 2011. It's the most popular crossover on the market, which is why Nissan also launched its own version last year.

Editor's note: A crossover built on the Clio platform, originally designed for a Romanian brand and now sold in Russia… boy, what has the world come to!
