A one-off 1969 Ford Mustang Fastback is about to go under the hammer at Mecum Auctions’ Dallas sale scheduled from September 4 through September 7. What’s unique about? Well, Mecum Auctions says it’s the only Mustang ever fitted with a 428 cubic inch Cobra Jet V8 engine that’s not a GT, a Mach 1 or a Shelby.
Still wearing its original Candy Apple Red paint, this 1969 pony comes with an R-Code 428 Cobra Jet Ram Air engine, shaker hood, C6 automatic transmission, Traction-Lok differential, power steering, a factory competition suspension and many more.

The vehicle was built in December 1968, has an engine with a 1969 date code, while the cylinder heads and exhaust manifolds are sourced from 1968 Shelby. Mecum doesn’t provide on estimate on this beauty, but we’ll be back with the price once the new owner is hammered.
