Their love for grandeur and their passion for extreme luxury is far from being over. After having built the world’s largest shopping, leisure and entertainment destination, the Dubai Mall, Vice-President and Prime Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has announced UAE’s latest project, on Saturday. The all-pedestrian complex will allegedly occupy a total area of 48 million square feet (4.45 millions square meters) and will have the largest indoor theme park in the world covered by a glass dome.

Called the “Mall of the World,” the project was unveiled on Saturday by the ruler of UAE, Sheikh Mohammed. It’s going to be the first temperature-controlled city which will feature the world’s largest mall and an indoor park, as well as hotels, health resorts and theaters.

Located along Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, close to Mall of Dubai, it will occupy a total area of 48 million square feet (4.45 millions square meters). The project will comprise the largest indoor theme park in the world, which will be covered by a glass dome that will be open during the winter months, but will keep everything nice and cool during the hot summers, when temperatures can reach nearly 122 Fahrenheit degrees (50 Celsius degrees).

According to its designers, Mall of the World will also house the largest shopping mall in the world (duh!) with an area of 8 million square feet (743,000 square meters) which will take the form of an extended retail street network, different to the typical shopping mall concept currently available in Dubai.

Basically, tourists will be able to enjoy a week-long stay without the need to leave the city or use a car. The 4 miles (7 km) long promenades connecting all facilities will be covered during the summer and open during the winter, ensuring pleasant temperatures throughout the year.

According to Khaleej Times, once it will be finished, it will have 100 hotels and serviced apartments buildings, including 20,000 hotel rooms, to Dubai’s hospitality sector. The project will include designated parking area with a capacity to host up to 50,000 cars on the ground level.
