Two New Engines for Aussie Audi Q5

Two months after the Audi Q5 began selling in Australia, two new engines come to complete the offer of the German manufacturer on the local market. Starting now, the Q5 is also offered with the 2.0l TDI and the 3.2l FSI engines, bringing the total engine range available for the Q5 to four, including the 2.0l TFSI and the 3.0l TDI units.

The diesel 2.0l engine develops 168 hp at 4,200 rpm and 350 Nm of torque in between 1,750 and 2,500 rpm. The unit is as fuel efficient as they get, consuming only 6.8l of fuel every 100 km. The engine puts out into the atmosphere 179g of CO2. Starting price for the Q5 equipped with this engine is $59,900.

The petrol unit, 3.2l FSI is a lot more agile, developing 267 hp at 6,500 rpm and 330 Nm of torque in between 3,000 and 5,000 rpm. The amount of power propels the compact SUV from naught to sixty in 6.9 seconds. Being petrol powered, it is a bit more harmful to the environment: for every kilometer, 221g of CO2 are released into the air.

The decision to bring in new engines so quickly is owed to the success of the Q5 Down Under. In the two month timeframe since its launch, Audi sold 280 units.
