Yet, I don't like helicopters and I only use planes if I really have to. I'm a fan (age ... Continue reading >

Two New Engines for Aussie Audi Q5
- Audi Q5 got two new engines for Australia
- The 3.2l FSI and 2.0l TDi engines join the other two units
- In two months Audi Q5 sold 280 units in Australia
The diesel 2.0l engine develops 168 hp at 4,200 rpm and 350 Nm of torque in between 1,750 and 2,500 rpm. The unit is as fuel efficient as they get, consuming only 6.8l of fuel every 100 km. The engine puts out into the atmosphere 179g of CO2. Starting price for the Q5 equipped with this engine is $59,900.
The petrol unit, 3.2l FSI is a lot more agile, developing 267 hp at 6,500 rpm and 330 Nm of torque in between 3,000 and 5,000 rpm. The amount of power propels the compact SUV from naught to sixty in 6.9 seconds. Being petrol powered, it is a bit more harmful to the environment: for every kilometer, 221g of CO2 are released into the air.
The decision to bring in new engines so quickly is owed to the success of the Q5 Down Under. In the two month timeframe since its launch, Audi sold 280 units.
“The Q5 is an excellent package. It is priced very competitively, and all diesel and petrol engines now on offer combine strong performance with good fuel economy - a hallmark of our brand. The market is responding very favorably with the Q5 taking the number one position in the premium medium-sized SUV segment in April. We’re confident it will continue as the top-selling SUV in its class throughout the year, thanks to a very steady order bank,” Joerg Hofmann, Audi managing director motivated the decision.
