Tuning Company Proposes New Face For Old Tesla Model S

Whenever a facelift of a car comes to market, owners of the previous version of the model aren't happy. Tesla’s Model S was refreshed this year, and we believe owners of the first generation car were not psyched of the change, especially if they bought one last year.

After all, once the facelift comes to market, your brand new car might look obsolete, even though it is still a great product. That is why Rolls-Royce facelifts are so discrete.

However, a tuning specialist with ample Tesla experience has come up with an alternative solution to selling your “old” Model S and getting the new one.

They propose a fresh face for the car, which follows Tesla’s new design lines without affecting the AutoPilot hardware or any functionality of the vehicle.

The tuners say that they did not affect cooling features in any way, and have even included a solution to start the vehicle to enable charging if the onboard 12V battery is completely discharged and the hood cannot be opened. The installation is reversible if desired, and no modifications to the vehicle are required.

We must note that the parts no not come pre-painted, and the Tesla logo must be removed from the original bumper and placed on the new front fascia.

The tuners say they are not allowed to sell the parts with the original logo, since it is trademarked, an entirely valid statement. Customers can order a pre-painted version if they like, but the tuners advise against it, as they believe it is best to paint the bumper according to the exact color of the car, which can only be done at a specialized workshop.

All preorders received before July 1, 2016, will come at a reduced price of $2,495, and each customer can only buy one. Otherwise, the price will be set at $2,995.

To secure a pre-order, a customer must pay a reservation fee of $300, but note that clients are forbidden to resell reservations. Customers that purchase the system will receive all the parts required for the conversion, which is guaranteed to be harmonious with all Tesla Model S vehicles built from 2012 to May 2016.
