Certain bikes have received a wrong certification label, with incorrect Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) figures. This makes the affected bike technically no longer compliant with the DOT requirements and must be fixed as soon as possible.

Aside from the legal aspect of the recall, NHTSA reports that after reading the incorrect label, a rider could overload the bike, resulting in handling issues and/or possible tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash significantly.

Triumph did not specify the number of affected vehicles or a schedule, and just said that the owners of respective motorcycles will be notified, and correct labels will be installed, free of charge, of course. If you want to find out more on this, call Triumph USA at 1-678-854-2010 or the NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236.
