Triumph Expands Tiger 800 Line-Up with XRt and XCa Models

Triumph Motorcycles adds two more models to the Tiger 800 range. They are more like two new trims, as both are based on the same platform. The new bikes arrive with touring amenities installed ex-works but are more than mere base-model two-wheelers with optional accessories installed.

Since Triumph equipped these two bikes with multiple electric accessories, they could put extra stress on the alternator, so Hinckley went for a bigger alternator. A 650W unit is now standard on the all-new Tiger 800 XRt and XCa, making sure the extra gadgetry and whatever riders may install after they get the bike work well.

The Tiger 800 XRt is more into the sport-adventure territory, with its cast wheels. The bike now comes with heated seats for both rider and passenger, heated grips, fog lamps and tire pressure monitoring. An optional luggage system can be fitted on the aluminium pannier rails, and hardware also includes a GPS mounting kit, a CNC machined brake reservoir and an aluminium radiator guard.

A machine built for tougher off-road riding, the Tiger 800 XCa gets the same upgraded alternator which powers the heated seats and grips. The bike is equipped with fog lamps as well as the aluminium pannier racks for accessory luggage systems. A GPS mounting kit is supplied, too, and CNC machined foot rests are standard.

Engines deliver the same 95 hp and switchable ABS and traction control are also part fo the game. And maybe it helps knowing that the off-road-biased XCa comes with WP suspensions. Prices are expected to be only a tad higher than those os the previous corresponding models, XCx and XRx.
