Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc., or simply said Toyota Kentucky, is the biggest vehicle manufacturing plant in North America. It started to make the US-made Camry model in 1988 and even from the beginning Tom Keith was there to make sure they exit the production line fast and in perfect condition. After so many years, luck has now finally made him the owner of the latest model.
And it’s not just a regular off-the line 2014 Camry, but in fact the 10 millionth unit made at the plant, who was decided to be offered to a lucky member of the team via randomly drawing one.
“It’s highly appropriate that our 10 millionth vehicle goes to one of the team members who made this milestone possible,” said TMMK Plant President Wil James. “Our team members are the heart and soul of this company, and they make all of our successes possible.”
Tom is a member in the Quality Control Department and has been in the company for the last 26 years. He lives in Scott County with his wife Paula and their four grown children.
“I’m in shock,” said Tom when he found out he’s the winner. “I’m going to surprise my wife. She works at the Scott County Library and drives a 2007 Avalon. I’m going to go over there this afternoon, move her car out and park the new Camry in her space. She’s going to scream.”
