A recent global brand value report released by Interbrand shows that Toyota has kept its number one automotive brand position, with the Japanese carmaker ranking 11 in the overall statistics, which includes companies from all areas.
The Interbrand Best Global Brands 2011 Report shows that Toyota has gained six performance points compared to last year, with the company being recognized for dealing with its prior quality issues in a favorable way, as well as managing to overcome the challenges of the Japans earthquake and tsunami that took place earlier this year.
The Interbrand rankings take into account three main aspects: financial performance of both products and services of the targeted brands, the role of the brand in purchase decisions and its capability to bring earnings for a company.
“Even though Toyota faced both an internal crisis and an external crisis, the company forged ahead by focusing on safety and quality, modifying its leadership structure and capitalizing on its world-renown green efforts,” the report explains.
