Despite the Takata faulty airbag scandal that has reached epic proportions lately, Toyota sits at the top of a list comprising the world's most valuable car brands.
Toyota is the most valuable car brand in 2015, despite the fact that massive recall campaigns and deaths were registered due to the notorious Takata airbags malfunctions.

The study carried out by Millward Brown says, in fact, Toyota's value fell 2 percent to $28.9 billion, but that wasn't enough to remove the Japanese brand from its throne. Since we've touched the Takata airbags story, we should add that Honda was ranked 4th in the same top with a brand value estimated at $13,2 billion, behind runners-up BMW ($26.4 billion) and third-placed Mercedes-Benz ($21.8 billion).

BMW good position was facilitated by a boost coming from its i division, namely the i8 plug-in hybrid sports car and i3 battery-powered city car.

The same study grants Audi the 'fastest-rising car brand' status, after they managed to overpass Volkswagen and occupy the number seven spot. Audi's brand value went up by 43 percent to $10.1 billion compared to previous year figures. Audi also benefited from its popularity in China, where the brand increased sales 18 percent year on year.

Toyota's luxury brand Lexus, which ranked highest for overall dependability in two independent surveys, attracted consumers seeking luxury with reliability and earned the 10th position in the charts.

Below you can find the full top 10 most valuable car brands and their estimated value, expressed in billions:
