Owning a Toyota Prius is so much more than making an eco statement. For most people in Japan, it's also about buying the most popular car in the country and making it your own. It's what Scion wanted to be, only without the fake marketing and stupid indie concerts.
Speaking of Scion, I vague remember that Kenstyle body kits were indirectly introduced into the US back in 2008 on the boxy xB. The tuning industry has leaped ahead since then, and I can honestly say the Prius looks ten times better than a Scion.

Multiple versions of the Kenstyle body kit are available for this 4th generation hybrid vehicle. But this one is the most advanced and we love it, especially from the back.

Starting at the front, we notice that the bumper is an add-on for the factory one, covering an area from about the top of the air intake and stretching a couple of inches below where the spoiler should have ended. The Prius also gets two additional LED strips and a grille insert.

Of course, this wouldn't be a proper Japanese tuning project without side skirts that imitate race cars. They're beefy at the back, and together with the stickers on the doors, they take you back to an era when neons were used instead of LEDs. Kenstyle also offers a variety of different wheels, these being 19s with thin 215/35R19 rubber. Oh, and they installed a 35mm offset for this demo car.

But the rear view is where all the magic happens. You've got a difuser in white, a black grille and a wing on top of the trunk. We bet that when you hit 88mph, a portal to 1999 opens up. Or is that 88mpg, considering this is a Prius?

The chances of seeing such a body kit anywhere outside of Japan are pretty low. That's because a 5-piece package that includes the front spoiler, side skirts, rear spoiler, hood and rear wing can cost å316,000 or around $2,800. That's before paint, installation and any other trinkets you might need.
