Toyotas are peaceful cars they say... Well, that’s what we thought about the iQ when we reviewed it back in the day, but it seems we were wrong. It turns out the little Toyota is the kind of car that likes to play the death loop game.
Yesterday, a modified iQ was unleashed inside the biggest cage in the world, with the car managing to perform a dozen of the extreme 360-degrees spins on the walls. The stunt took place yesterday, June 14th, in Vilnius, Lithuania.
In case you’re wondering how ample the car’s movements were, you should know the cage is 39.4 feet (12 meters) tall. The iQ tips the scales at 1,985 lbs (900 kg), while the driver weighs 185 lbs (84 kg).
The stuntman behind the wheel had to adapt to a force of 7G, which means the car’s actual weight became roughly 7 tons.
We’ve seen such stunts before being performed with both cars and motorcycles, but it’s not just the massive cage that sets this one apart. When you see the actual movement of the car in the clip below, you this is one of the most extreme forms of driving our gravity allows.
Somehow, the stunt makes us think of Mad Max. Sure, the Thunderdome cage they used in the third installment of the franchise didn’t accommodate vehicles, but the stunt we see here brings us pretty close to such an idea. Even the process of returning to a normal state is impressive.
