Yes, we know the Toyota Hilux is overly tough. We tried to throw quite some challenges at the pickup truck when we drove it a few years ago and a good wash was all it needed to get over it.
However, we never realised the Japanese workhorse is rugged enough to board a ship using nothing more than a pair of rather slip planks. We have to admit we cringed a little bit as the video revealed more and more of the madness.

Judging by the soundtrack of the clip, it looks like those witnessing the loading job were rather surprised of the outcome. By the way, it appears this operation takes place in Brazil and we’ve heard this isn’t exactly an experiment over there. Yes, moving cars around like this seems to be a common practice.

Speaking of the Hilux, Toyota has recently introduced a new generation of the blue collar machine. This is an all-new model and the first sign of that comes in the form of the increased dimensions - the 2016 Hilux is 2.7 inches (70 mm) longer and 0.7 inches (20 mm) wider.

As for those all-important work figures, the Hilux can now tow up to 7,716 lbs (3,500 kg) and offers a maximum payload of 2,733 lbs (1,240 kg).

We’ll still have some waiting to do until the new model hits the market though, so for now we’re stuck with the invincible one here.
