You never know what you may find if you search deep enough into the archives of a Japanese tuner. This is the Toyota Harrier, a crossover you probably don't even know about. It's like a Toyota version of the Lexus RX, only with much more distinctive styling.
We've always thought it looked special, but that seems to be even truer now that Japanese tuners Wald International have fitted one of their Black Bison body kits. The guys are famous for their oversized air intake and the ones on the Harrier are the size of trash cans.
Before we say anything about the body kit, let's note the design of the wheels. They are similar to a cooling fan and can be painted in red or black.
The Black Bison kit includes things like a new bumper, grille, LED daytime running lights, side skirts and a rear diffuser. Even the exhaust has been painted black for added visual effect.
We think the Bison looks better in matte black, but you can make up your own mind by looking at the photo gallery below.
One place where you will find less than you would expect is under the bonnet. The base Harrier is equipped with a 2-liter engine producing only 151 horsepower. And no, it's not turbocharged. Your other option isn't more appealing either, being a hybrid system that's similar to that of the NX 300h. A 2.5-liter engine and electric motor combine to offer 196 hp through a CVT gearbox. That's not much for a vehicle weighing about 1.7 tons.
