Toyota GT 86 to Drop Spare for Repair Kit
But even though the car is ready, there’s still room for improvement. Australian website CarAdvice reports that an internal vehicle notification bulletin emerged recently, saying that the GT 86 units delivered from October to Australia will have a tire repair kit instead of a spare wheel that currently comes standard.
To save even more weight, the 86 will also drop the rubber cargo mat that sits over the spare wheel.
Right now, it’s not clear if this will also bring a price decrease, considering a tire an alloy is more expensive than the kit. It’s also not clear if this change will be applied internationally, though this is very likely.
