Toyota GT 86 / Scion FR-S Sedan, Shooting Brake Rendered
The story came via the company's product chief Tetsuya Tada, who unveiled it in an inteview given to Toyota UK Blog. While saying that Japanese executives didn't agree with sedan and shooting brake version for the GT 86, Tada added that he hopes the sports coupe becomes a "family like what BMW has done with the Mini".
Therefore, it didn't take enthusiasts too long to envision the aforementioned variants, though a sedan or a shooting brake Toyota GT 86, or Scion FR-S for that matter, would probably never see the light of day. The renderings provided by our friends over at TopSpeed.com picture the Scion FR-S as a sedan and an estate for the 2019 model year, with the source explaining that "if it ever does hit the market, we wouldn’t expect to see it for at least five years."
For some reason we find the shooting break version to be more exhilarating than the sedan, but we could see ourselves having loads of fun in both of them. Now if only Toyota would take a look at these renderings and have a second though about greenlighting Tada's idea. It might be the key to great new success, don't you think?
