Here at autoevolution we love mean, big gas guzzlers. The bigger the cylinders, the bigger the fun and the crazier the sound exiting the pipes (big chromed ones hopefully). Unfortunately, such kind of cars are starting to make almost no sense in today’s city traffic, where a small econo-box will probably make for a better choice.
For most of us, having to move around in a cramped, cheap, three-cylinder car kinda spoils the fun of driving, but Toyota here wants to show us their new little Aygo has “fun” written all over the place.
Up until now, we kinda hated the Citroen C1/Peugeot 107/Toyota Aygo trio, simply because they were uglier than our watercooler. However, the next generation now changed that a lot, especially the Japanese version of the same platform, which chose to be very different from its French sisters.
While the C1 and 108 models remained cute and fluffy in some way, the Aygo decided to be the little grownup and adopt sharp lines, a not-so-smiling mouth, making for a frowned face and an overall Gundam-style aroma.
It might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer with its puny 3-cylinder unit, but with a stiffer body and suspension, lightness and crazy looks it should offer tons of fun around the city.
Fact that this new German Aygo commercial we stumbled upon also wants to emphasize, centering on the new model that inherited much of the personality of a crazy dog, marking its territory everywhere and not giving a damn about anything.
Well, that’s exactly what we expected from a city car - looks and arrogance. We really wish the weeing device is on the optional list; who here doesn’t want to squirt on the moron that stole your parking space?
