Peugeot was the first to reveal its new A-segment hatch 108, followed by Renault with its rear-engined Twingo and yesterday we were wondering when Toyota will come up with its version. Well, it did today.
Toyota just teased the new Aygo model, promising to be a hell of a lot more fun to drive around the city and also look apart, following to be fully revealed next month.

“What I wanted to make was a car that stands out in a Japanese way, in order to capture the imagination of customers all-around Europe. So I let myself be inspired by today’s Japanese youth-culture.” said chief engineer David Terai.

The automaker also offered us a sneak peek in this video bellow, telling that people are different and they need personal things to represent them. What can we learn from here is that the new Aygo will probably come with some personalization options, such as different colored interior trimmings, probably for exterior too.

The new Aygo also comes with a brand new design style and you can tell that only by looking at its new logo. The automaker says that the city car is influenced by a new theme called “J-Playful.”

Since the new Aygo will be made in the same factory along with the Peugeot 108 (and the Citroen C1) most of their exterior parts will be the same, especially at the rear. However, Toyota now has a special love for “X”, which will be embedded into the car’s front fascia via a very angry grille.

The new Toyota Aygo will make its debut next month at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for additional details and the big unveil.
