The GLE-Class is not the most modern widget in the Mercedes shed, but it cuts a dashing figure every time it's combined with the all-mighty 5.5-liter V8 engine and tuned with exotic materials.

The link between this particular project and the Stormtroopers from the Star Wars universe is as clear as daylight. However, there are many times of troopers out there, like the new Shoretrooper, which are like the Marine Core of galactic soldiers.

But no matter the job, this SUV is what every underpaid rebel-killing thug secretly wants, a Topcar GLE 63. The Russian tuner hasn't created a revolution with this project, but it's the cleanest one yet, staying true to the original philosophy of the uber-Merc.

The standard Inferno body kit starts at €17,080, but can climb to €20,250 when you have the parts made from carbon fiber. It's not a huge increase, so many customers opt to have it that way. 23 individual parts are used to paint the big picture here, including a brand new grille with a cool shark logo.

We also like how the lower intake mesh is one uniform piece from one end of the car to the other. For the wheels, Topcar opted for what looks like a clean 22-inch set of HRE 5-spoke alloys in black to contrast against the golden brakes.

The view from the back is a mismatch of several design elements, including taillights that look like they came from the old E-Class. The widening conversion completely changes the look of several panels, including the doors. Even if this hasn't suddenly turned into a track car, a bit of wide-set rubber on a 700 horsepower truck can't hurt. It's like those bulges at the bottom of the trooper helmets that make them look more menacing, even if they can't shoot straight.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
