Remember the silver Tesla Roadster that ran out of “fuel” during Top Gear's tests? Well, in fact, it didn't and no one had to push it home as filmed in the show.

According to Register Hardware, a spokesman of the famous show confirmed what Tesla's head of spin, Rachel Konrad, recently stated, namely that none of the two Tesla ran out of juice during the tests.

It seems that a confusion has been made when the Top Gear team pushed the car into the shed without making it really clear why they were doing this.

As a matter of fact, according to the Top Gear spokesman, they filmed the tested Tesla while being pushed home just to show what would happen if the car ran out of charge. As if it wasn't obvious for all cars that ran out of gas in general...

To make matters even more confusing, BBC claims the popular motoring show offered a  “fair representation of the Tesla's performance on the day it was tested."

"They never had to push a car off the track because of lack of charge or a fault," Rachel Konrad wrote earlier this week. "It’s unclear why they were pushing one into a garage in the video; I’ll refrain from speculating about their motives."

Whether the confusion was created by accident or not, little should matter for Tesla Motors or at least this is what Top Gear team might think since the findings were mostly favorable. Let's just not forget that when tested by the “tame racing driver”, the Stig, the Roadster made the same track time as Porsche 911 GT3 which ranks the electric car among fast motors.

Furthermore, when Top Gear compared it to a Lotus Elise (the car on which the Roadster is based), it looked like "volt-head had beaten the petrol-head" and it was "snowing in hell".

So, what could Tesla Motors want more besides seeing their beloved electric car pushed home just to show the eager Top Gear audience what to do in case it runs out of “fuel”?!
