One of the projects that already got a lot of supporters on the official Lego Ideas site is a very accurate scale model of America’s truly first sportscar, the 1969 Chevrolet Corvette. The replica of the famous muscle car is finished in ocean blue color and its creator managed to build up those flowing curves with a pretty impressive degree of accuracy.
After a quick look, you could think there’s a strange resemblance between the model and some sort of Transformers’ look like design. But that is until you look further and observe the V8 under the hood, removable T-tops, huge side pipes and proper 4 round taillights. This Lego C3 is quite the toy.

Its creator says he tried to replicate the unique body shape the C3 comes with, a car that he always wished he could drive and is satisfied with the result. Well, we can’t agree more and so do Lego fans. Created by Brickdater and uploaded on August 29th, the project already has almost 2,000 supporters so we might just see it in stores.

As to the actual car, well the 1969 C3, with it’s coke bottle curves and standout performance, was definitely an icon of its era and is highly sought after today. It’s no wonder it managed to become a model for the Lego world, joining some of the greatest car ever designed by the folks that love the plastique bricks so much. Oh, by the way, if you really like the C3 you can always back it up.
