Norwegian electric vehicle manufacturer Think is expected to announce in the near future its decision regarding its future US-based production site. According to rumors, Think has already picked a site in Indiana as the central hub for its North American production.

The details regarding the location will be announced in a few weeks, as Charles Gassenheimer, Ener1 CEO (shareholder in Think) hinted in an interview, just-auto.com reported. According to others, however, Think has not yet made up its mind between the sites it is eyeing in Indiana, Michigan and Oregon.

Regardless of the final site chosen, Think is expected to manufacturer 16,000 cars per year and employ some 300 workers in the early stages of development. In time, production is slated to be increased to 60,000 vehicles a year, while the workforce would be increased to 900 people.

After securing its financial future only a few months ago, with the involvement of Ener1, Valmet Automotive and Investinor, Think has moved on to create the company's backbone.

Think appointed its new board of directors in early October by incorporating people who previously worked with GM, Fiat or investment companies.

Yesterday, Think announced two new executive appointments. Jan Brentebrten, former Mazda and Ford Europe executive, has been appointed marketing, sales and service director, while Helge Nerland will take the role of chief financial officer.

Think is concentrating its efforts on developing and selling the Think City Car, a 100 km/h EV, powered by three types of batteries: two lithium-ion (made by A123 and Enerdel) and one sodium (made by Mes-Dea).
