The Stig Drives the Nissan Leaf

Now that the mystery surrounding the identity of the Stig has been shattered in not such a pleasant manner, the crowd of automotive enthusiasts had high hopes for the future, mostly because of the flamboyant promises made by Ben Collins, the man who used to wear the Stig suit.

We all remember how Collins promised he's working on a competitor show for Top Gear. We all learned this week that Collins was hired by the less famous, yet equally entertaining show Fifth Gear. And, by looking back at his background as the Stig, the future couldn't have looked brighter for the fans.

Until this crazy idea popped up in Collins' head: test the Nissan Leaf. That is not a problem in itself, but the manner in which Collins decided to present the car is.

You all know Top Gear. You all know that for them it's not the buttons, the spoken presentation or the calm drives taken on an average road the elements which make up the defining traits of the car. For Top Gear, and the Stig, it was all about performances, the roaring engine and the complete silence of the Stig.

Then again, the Leaf has no engine, and Collins has no Stig suit. This is perhaps why this is one of the dullest car reviews we've seen in quite a lot of time. We bet that when you read the title of this piece, you thought this would be worth a look. So did we, when first learning about the drive Collins took in the Leaf.

Unfortunately, you will not see Stig the super-driver testing the Leaf. You'll see Ben Collins the average Joe driving an electric car.
