The Mercedes-Benz 190 E W201 was the first foray from the Stuttgart manufacturer into the executive compact class, otherwise known as the D segment in Europe.
Part of an unprecedented at the time investment into its development, the original Baby-Benz, as it was first called by fans in the beginning, had only a single model line.
Unlike its following successor, the C-Class, the 190 E didn't have an Estate or a Coupe and Convertible line, the sedan being the only type of body available during its eleven-year life span. Its original competitor, the BMW 3-Series, was available in all aforementioned body types, for example.

Manipulating a couple of photos from the regular 190 E 2.5-16 sedan, he managed to transform the car into a two-door convertible that doesn't look half-bad, especially since the 1980's look is preserved even better in its convertible version.
