Tesla Motors' Darryl Siry Resigns
He believes that, because of his different opinions to that of the company's senior executives, it is best to let them decide the way forward. On his blog he states that he stayed with the company to manage the transition and even helped recruit another qualified person to sit in his chair from now on.
Not so long ago, Chairman Elon Musk took over the control of the company as he replaced the previous CEO Ze'ev Drori at the Silicon Valley startup.
Siry intends to comment more on the alternative fuel vehicle industry on his blog.
Tesla motors was founded in July 2003 and it is orientated on creating high performance electric sportscars. Their current model is the Tesla Roadster, a model that can sprint to 60 in just 3.9 seconds. The car has an alleged range of 393 km on a single battery pack.
The roadster's efficiency is equivalent to 120 miles per US gallon (51 km/l/140 mpg). We can see resemblances with Lotus and that is because the car is assembled at the Lotus factory in Hethel, England, with drivetrain components and body components supplied to the factory by Tesla.
The car costs $109,000 as standard, with an extra $10,000 in optionals, the constructor planning to deliver 1500 cars. The model is powered by a 3-phase, 4-pole electric motor, producing a maximum power of 248 HP (185 kW). The motor is designed for rotational speeds of up to 14,000 rpm and delivers an efficiency of typically 90% or 80% at peak power.
