Tesla Model S Receives 711 Pre-Orders in Two Weeks
“Frankly the number of cars reserved in the first week has exceeded our optimistic internal projections. Enthusiasm surrounding the Model S is proof that there’s pent-up demand for more affordable, fuel-efficient vehicles, including those made in America,” Elon Musk, Tesla CEO said in a release.
In case you're wondering what's so special about this car, find out that the all-electric sports sedan is capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in no less than 5.6 seconds, while keeping fuel consumption and emissions down to 0. The maximum speed is electronically-limited to 120 mph (209 km/h).
The electric car manufacturer has quite high expectations from this particular model and explains that both the United States and Europe are projected to bring uprated figures when talking about Tesla S.
"We expect that Tesla sales will eventually be split evenly between the US and Europe," Musk stated last week when Tesla Motors announced its plans to open a new store in London in June. Other locations to host Tesla stores are Manhattan, Miami, Seattle and Washington, DC while in Europe Tesla is considering sites in Munich and Monaco.
