Swarovski Studded 7-Star VIP Cable Cars Debut in Singapore

Who knew you can get a 7-star luxury treatment while inside a cable car cabin? Well, if you happen to be in Singapore, you might as well try the Jewel Cable Car round trip, in the world’s first VIP crystal-studded cable cars.

The new system is LED-illuminated, sparkling metallic black and chrome cabins on a monocable rope way, linking Mount Faber of Harborfront Tower and Sentasa Island.

The Swarovski-encrusted cabin features a Crystal Panel glass floor and roof by Swarovski, large comfortable black leather upholstered chairs with arm rests covered with glittering black crystal by Swarovski elements.

"Singapore is registered nine consecutive months of record visitor arrivals since December last year. The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) is recorded 7.6 million visitors to Singapore by August this year, and it's confident we are on track to achieve the forecast of 11.5 to 12.5 million visitors to Singapore this year, which will be setting a record for Singapore," Singapore's Senior Minister for Trade and Industry and Education S Iswaran was quoted as saying by xinhuanet.com.

The new cableway system comprises no less than 67 cabins, capable of seating 8 people, and comes equipped with flip-up seats, easy access for wheelchairs and baby prams, mp3 music system and a removable table with cup-holder for Sky Dining.

"In some ways, the cable car on Mount Faber is symbolic of the ingredients that have made Singapore a success story, and the conception of the Singapore cable car was part of the government's tourism blueprint for the country," added Olivier Lim, Chairman of Mount Faber Leisure Group.

A one-way journey, which takes around 13 minutes at a speed of 3m/s, costs $24 for adults, while a return trip is $26. Children aged three to 12 years have to pay $14 for a one-way ride and $15 for a round trip, while those aged below three years ride for free.
